Technology Warranties BIG NEWS?

About a year ago I went through a frenzy of buying electrical products from laptops to xbox 360,s and they all came with a standard 1 year warranty. A year on and just after the warranty has expired everything seems to be failing and I need to Take it back to the shop and pay them to repair it. Once the warranty is up, you are on your own as far as paying for any and all repairs.
