    outside of medicine? well a lot of technology is found in genetics.

    Gene gun - shoots genes inside cells
    PCR Machine - replicates DNA
    Probes
    DNA mapping technology
    Recombinant DNA technology
    DNA Fingerprinting

    Just to name a few

    I’m actually a Ph.D in human genetics. Here is some of the technology/techniques we use.

    Automated gene Sequencing (Sanger Sequencing and Pyro Sequencing)

    Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)

    Multiplex Ligation Dependant Probe Analysis (MLPA)

    Gel Electrophoresis

    Microarray Chip Technologies (used to analyse genotypes of alleles in thousands of different genes, or to look at the expresison of these genes)

    DNA Microsatellite Genotyping
