Why do new Windows Vista Gadgets Look Different?

I upgraded my PC to Windows Vista several months after it was released. My brother and some friends recently got new computers with Vista pre-installed. What confuses me is that their gadgets (the things on the right side of the desktop) look different than mine (e.g. the notepad, the clock, etc.). Why is that and how can I get their appearances for my gadgets?

there are lots of gadgets available online. Just click in the gadgets and choose “add new” and “search online”.

My bet is that Vista has already changed since when it first came out. Improved hopefully! So I would think that they only way to get their appearances is to buy the updates online…or buy the newest Vista software…and completely reinstall the entire thing….however I think that may cause you to loose all of the documents on your computers. Sometimes buying a new computer is faster…less stressful…and better. Just depends on what you want.
