I have a Compaq desktop computer about 3 years old and would like to make it compatible with my wireless speaker which operates on Bluetooth. Is there a software/hardware that I need to install??

You can’t install a software and make PC Bluetooth enabled
Instead purchase a Bluetooth dongle (looks like a flash driver/memory drive)
any computer store will have it
gets plugged into the USB port
install the CD that would come with it and then add any bluetooth device to your PC e.g. Mouse, Printer, Speakers, Mobile etc..
