My bluetooth says “enabled”, it says “always visible” but when I try to connect with my friend it says “media is unsupported”. What does that mean and what do I have to do to use bluetooth on my phone?

One Response to “How do I use the bluetooth technology on my Samsung m300?”
This message means that there is no way to store the information transmitted. It is possible that what your friend is sending cannot be stored on your phone. What are you exchanging?
It is possible that this functionality is blocked on your phone by your service provider. You did not indicate who is your service provider.
To connect to another phone, you have to go to Trusted Devices > Add New.
If you choose Search, it will find your friend’s ID and you can add it to your list. You will have to enter a 4 digit PIN number.
If you choose Wait For Request, your friend can send a connection request to you. To add the user, you both have to use the same 4 digit PIN number.
Once the user is in the Trusted Devices list, to send a card, choose the name in the list and select Options > Send Contact. The receiving phone should be in idle mode, i.e. the normal welcome screen, not the Bluetooth menu. The receiving phone will show a “request to connect” message or a “request to share a contact card” message. If they accept, they may be asked the PIN number again.
If this fails, it is possible that 2 Bluetooth devices are incompatible. Check your Device Info with your friend’s phone Device Info, and see if you have compatible profiles.
Other things you can do with your Bluetooth phone is connect to a Bluetooth headset. The procedure is similar.
Overall, the procedure is not too complicated, but it has to be performed in the right order. To send a contact card, this is more cumbersome that giving someone a business card or telling them your information verbally. However, no pen or paper is required and there should not be a mistake in entering the contact card with the Bluetooth method.
