The picture from the DVD player on the television is black and white. It is a color movie. What do I need to do to make the picture color? Have I done something wrong?

I’m guessing that you’re connecting the DVD player to your TV via component video cables. If that’s the case, double check the blue and green connections on both the TV and DVD player. It is a very common mistake to plug one end into the wrong color, especially since it’s usually dark behind the TV. This mistake usually results in a black and white picture. Good luck!
What cable did you use to connect the DVD player to the tv. You should use an HDMI cable for best picture and sound. Component is the second choice for video and an optical or coax cable for the audio and connected to your receiver or home theater in a box. The single rca cable (color coded in yellow) in the worst connection choice, and this is the reason for the black and white picture. You also need to go to your tv menu for input connection and make the appropriate changes. Hope this will help you out.

How are you hooking it up? RCA cables (red, yellow, and white plugs)?. Make sure the plugs are in the right inputs on the TV.
Good luck.
