To go from Windows XP to Windows 7, you are going to have to custom install it. Meaning all of your installed programs will be gone and all those information. The only thing staying are your personal files.

I bet your friends went out and got laptops with Windows 7 on it. I bet they didnt install Windows 7 on an XP machine and say it is “much faster”. Dont waste your time and money.

Installing Windows 7 on a computer will COMPLETEY erase the hard drive (to upgrade u need Vista) and of course you will have to REINSTALL ALL THE DRIVERS SOME OF YOUR COMPONENTS may not work.

Windows 7 is a tiny faster than Vista BUT NOT XP

If you choose to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 you will have to reinstall any programs you want to use. For a step-by-step guide, including back up and restore options go here:.
