If I upgrade to Windows 7 with Windows 7 upgrade, will all the settings on my computer be the same?

Yay Ah! asked:
I already have my computers set up a certain way and don’t want anything to change - as far as the display goes. All my shortcut icons are set up and arranged in a very efficient way for myself so I don’t have to search for certain files/folders. Will upgrading to Windows 7 ***** this up?

There is an option upon installing to just keep your files intact and installing the upgrade. So, it should not affect your desktop or files.

If you’re coming from Vista you can tell it to upgrade and it will move over your files, settings, and programs.
You can also back stuff like that up and readily restore them if you fresh install as recommended.

nothing will erase.. everything will be as it is.. settings/files/ even programs.. you just have to choose that option when running the upgrade.. do NOT choose fresh install since that will format your pc.. and run a clean version of windows 7..
Just incase anything happens you can also backup your files or settings on a hard drive partition or external hD
